Player Profile – Southlake Christian’s Micah Handlogten

Micah Handlogten (c/o 2022) is 7’1 and growing and this season has helped Southlake sport a winning overall record heading into the final week of the season.

Micah is coached by former ACC Player of the Year and Hall of Fame athlete Rodney Monroe (NC State) and his father Ben Handlogten spent time playing in the NBA and overseas.

During the interview Micah mentioned that his father advises him to be one of the most aggressive players on the court and to be a great teammate by sharing the ball and doing all that he can to help his team win.  He also mentioned Coach Monroe creates a practice environment built on strong competition and defense.

Those basketball principles has not only helped escalate Micah’s overall game but his recruitment as well.

Micah shared that he has heard from the University of Michigan, Maryland, Davidson, High Point University and a host of other division one programs including several of the IVY league schools.

In addition to basketball Micah is a two time state champion in Lacrosse.
